Hot Boy Summer: the Original

creativelybijou

Everybody has heard of a hot girl summer; I myself have thrown around the term with my besties as the spring air has caressed our spirits and given it hopes anew of fun in the sun. Our old decrepit winter auras shedding their dim & pasty rays for brighter hopes of blossoming with the wildflowers in a wonderful summer glow. Hot girl summer is full of "WOOs", wine & polaroidable magical moments of mayhem. While we are throwing our hands in the air and planning our picnics and picture-perfect moments what on earth are the boys doing?

As much as we would love to believe they are having a far worse time than us, I don't believe that is the case. It appears to me that the boys have created their own camp of "Hot Boy Summer" and that involves finding the perfect polo to show off on the course, letting their hair (...or hats) flow freely in the wind as they ride with might and gusto in their golf cart chariots with drinks in hand chasing down golf balls that have flown this way and that in the horizon. Chasing the thrill of a perfectly hit shot, "semi-friendly" banter and the intense mental battle of the peaks and valleys this precision game brings about. The highs of straight shot or a good put muddled in with the absolute, utter embarrassment of slicing the shot to a separate dimension, floundering under the pressures of wanting to do a good job. These boys appear to be sunset chasers as well, hunting the good bargains of a late tee time they chase down the clock as the reds and purple hues threaten to end their fun.

This is the inspiration behind the "Hot Boys Summer" watercolor original I created. It is an ode to the many Instagram stories I have watched, and golf shot play-by-plays I have listened to as my friends have lived their best and wildest "Hot Boy Summer" dreams. May you guys continue to chase those sunsets and missing golf balls for summers to come.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the scene that fell from my mind to paper, this was a very fun piece to create, and I hope that jovial nature was properly portrayed. I hope you tune in again next s
Sunday for another offbeat anecdote!

As always,

Keep it offbeat!
