I found the Colorado mountains by way of a slow meandering path through rainforests, foothills, fields of sheep, expanses of deserts and moments of hygge. Through these everchanging intertwining landscapes my slow growing roots finally awoke once I found myself nestled in a mountain house with 5 dudes & a dog. A chaotic yet charming family of friends sharing the burdens of the crippling rent of a ski town. Popcorn, movie nights, parties and the search for adventures proved to be a cozy solace to the chaos of the craziness of living in a resort town where people flood to escape their own city problems with an "anything goes" style attitude in a hungry search for a good time and the lightest bit of trouble. Working in the service industry paired with living year-round in a "vacation town" with the tight knit ski bum community has provided me with a special lens to observe people in their most unnatural habitat. This has proved to be an endless well of inspiration for me and I hope that the opening of this brand-new ski season proves to continue its tradition of observing the creative problem solving that brandishes itself to those who believe they are invincible or reaching an inevitable death. I cannot wait to see what comedic undercurrents of living in a ski town will be revealed in the upcoming season.
Cheers to another season on the slopes, may it be as fun, funny and frustrating as every year before it. To my fellow Jerries out there, I hope you are as ready as I to wreak havoc with me once again!
As always,
Keep it offbeat
